Mark Ritchie serves as President of Global Minnesota and has led the effort to bring the 2027 World’s Fair to Minnesota focused on health and wellness. From 2007-2015 he was Minnesota’s elected Secretary of State and President of the National Association of Secretaries of State in 2013.
Mark previously served as the Trade Policy leader Minnesota’s Department of Agriculture, President of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. As an appointed member of the U.S. Trade Representative’s Trade and Environment Policy Advisory Committee Mark was a member of the U.S. delegation to the founding of the World Trade Organization in Singapore in 1995.
As one of the founders of the cooperative food movement in California in the 1970s, Mark led the San Francisco-based Center for Rural Studies from 1974 until 1979. Mark is a graduate of Iowa State University and the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. Mark serves on the national advisory committee of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission and as the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army.
