Alan Bjerga is the author of the book Endless Appetites: How the Commodities Casino Creates Hunger and Unrest. He currently is the senior vice president for communications with the National Milk Producers Federation, which represents U.S. dairy cooperatives in Washington, and serves as a journalism instructor at Georgetown University. He’s a past president of the National Press Club and the North American Agricultural Journalists and has been recognized for his work with awards from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, the Overseas Press Club, and others. His commentary has appeared on Bloomberg Television, National Public Radio, the BBC, and PBS Newshour, among other programs. Bjerga grew up on a farm near the town of Motley, Minnesota.
